Reiki is handed down by Reiki Masters to their students who have been attuned to this wonderful
energy which flows through the practitioner into the subject.
Reiki is non-invasive and is not affiliated with any one religion. Reiki
is gentle, powerful but can never do harm.
Reiki will enhance other forms of medical treatment and will not
interfere with traditional medicine.
A Reiki Practitioner cannot guarantee healing, only that you will get
a session of quiet and gentle relaxation to help reduce stress.
The
word "Reiki" broken down into two parts with "Rei" meaning all that is or universal and
"ki" meaning life force. Together meaning "universal life force" which
flows through all things.
What is a Reiki session
like?
A Reiki session can range from
a 20 minutes in a chair up to a 90 minute session lying on a massage table. This will depend on the problem
a person may be having. Reiki concentrates on not only the physical symptoms, but the emotional and mental aspects of healing
a person as a whole.
There is no manipulations,
just a light hands on touch. If a person is uncomfortable with hands on touch, the session can be done without touching.
When a person becomes comfortable with the feeling of Reiki
energy flowing through them, many will start to relax and may even fall asleep. This is a good sign the gentle
effects of Reiki is at work in a calming manner.
If
a person is in pain, Reiki can be very soothing and help to relieve pain. Drinking water is encouraged to rehydrate the
body after a Reiki session.
Dogs, Cats, Horses
as well as other pets can benefit from Reiki. I have experience treating animals with Reiki and they are very receptive
to energy healing, especially when age and chronic illness is present. The Reiki technique helps to sooth an animal.
I hope that I have brought you more of an understanding of what Reiki
is and what it can do to help you be a happier, healthier person. Reiki is wonderful for your pets too.
